This investigation demonstrated 2.1 wt% tungsten drastically reduced the kinetics of tertiary phase precipitation in 25Cr super duplex stainless steels. The slow kinetics resulted in a better overall pitting corrosion resistance.
Localized corrosion
Metals – Special Issue “Localized Corrosion of Metals and Alloys”
Together with Prof. Afrooz Barnoush (NTNU), we are preparing a Metals Journal Special issue on localized corrosion. The call for papers is open. Enter to learn more about the scope of the special issue and how to submit your manuscript.
Unusual Correlation between SKPFM and Corrosion of Nickel Aluminum Bronzes – Publication
In this article, we investigate the inverse correlation between Volta potentials measured by SKPFM and the observed localized corrosion morphology of NAB.
Use of the critical acidification model to estimate critical localized corrosion potentials of duplex stainless steels – Publication
Can we use Galvele’s critical acidification model to estimate the localized corrosion resistance of engineering stainless steels?
Short answer: yes; long answer: it is complicated.

Effect of Tungsten on the Pitting and Crevice Corrosion Resistance of Type 25Cr Super Duplex Stainless Steels – Publication
Are all super duplex stainless steels alike? Does tungsten additions have an influence on localized corrosion resistance?
Spoiler: it does, and it is remarkable.
Materials Selection and Corrosion Control in Subsea Oil and Gas Production – Lecture
This lecture describes various materials selection and corrosion control strategies for subsea oil and gas production systems. A brief discussion on carbon and low alloy steels as well as corrosion resistance alloys is presented alongside fundamental corrosion concepts.
