Save the date: The Electrochemical Society Open Access Week!
For a second consecutive year, The Electrochemical Society (ECS) is joining the International Open Access week. This inspiring event takes place from October 24 to 30. During this week, ECS will make its entire Digital Library containing more than 132,000 articles freely accessible to the community.
ECS classic lectures on electrochemistry
A series of classic lectures in electrochemistry published by the Electrochemical Society and the Case Western Reserve University and sponsored by The Eltech Systems Lectureship in Electrochemistry Endowment Fund.
CORROSION 2016: Mechanisms of Localized Corrosion Symposium – In Memoriam of Professor José R. Galvele
Dr. Ajit Mishra and I have organized the upcoming TEG 407X (STG 60) Mechanisms of localized corrosion in Memoriam of Professor José Galvele (March 1937 – August 2011). The year 2016 marked the 40th anniversary of Prof. Galvele’s seminal “Transport Processes and the Mechanism of Pitting of Metals” publication. Our goal for the symposium was to bring the best of industry and academia under one roof. We will be honored by the presence of distinguished guest speakers from both industry and academia. A list of lecturers and scope of their talks is presented below.
Call for papers – CORROSION 2016: Mechanisms of Localized Corrosion – In memoriam of Prof. J.R. Galvele
The deadline for abstract submission is May 1st. This post describes the symposium objectives and provides a link to NACE International Abstract Submission Portal.
Localized corrosion risk assessment using Markov analysis
The objective of this work was to develop the foundation for an interactive corrosion risk management tool, based on Markov Analysis, for assessing the probability of failure of industrial components as a function of threats (such as pitting corrosion and coating degradation) and mitigation schemes (such as inhibitors and coatings). doi: 10.5006/1184
